Headway News - February 2021
- 29 January 2021
Happy New Year to Everyone. I hope you all enjoyed a great break over the Summer. We are so lucky in New Zealand to be able to get out and about. However, it’s important to stay safe and keep everyone around us safe. I believe the new Summer slogan is “Slip, Slop, Slap, Scan and Sanitise.’
Let’s keep on doing our part to keep COVID out of our communities, so we can keep on doing the things we enjoy.
On that note, Headway is back up and running after the break. Current activities are: Art on Mondays, Tai Chi on Tuesdays, TBI group 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, Headway Harmonies on Thursdays, and Friends on Friday. Keep an eye on newsletters or call us to check on times and any cancellations.
We would love some more budding singers for Headway Harmonies. There’s no need to feel shy. Come along to a choir session and see what it’s like. Making music with Emma and our current singers is simply the best.
Our first event of the year is the annual picnic. Please come along and join us on 21 February at Long Bay.
Headway is looking forward to an exciting and productive 2021. Do come along, join us and be part of our warm and welcoming community.
Best wishes
Ruth
It's All About Alison.
Since 1981, Alison has been a consistent face of the Brain Injury Association, Auckland. She is a greatly valued and admired member of the Headway, Brain Injury Association Auckland team and part of the Brain Injury Association NZ Liaison Officers team.
After nearly 40 years of dedicated service to the association, Alison has recently retired from her regular role as Liaison Officer and is now preparing for some time to enjoy retirement.
We know that she will not be far away and is in fact still keeping her ties with Headway in a few areas. So her smile and supporting nature will still grace the halls of Headway House.
We wish Alison all the best for some special time to spend some time on personal activities and relaxation.
